New UEFA-Standard Football Stadiums to Be Built in Vanadzor and Ijevan
Plans are underway in Armenia to construct new football stadiums in Vanadzor and Ijevan that will meet UEFA standards. The Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, Zhanna Andreasyan, announced this during discussions on the 2025 state budget proposal.
These will be fully equipped stadiums designed to accommodate both local and international football tournaments.
This project is also connected to Armenia and Georgia’s intention to co-host the 2029 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Minister Andreasyan highlighted that quality sports facilities will not only elevate Armenia’s international reputation but also promote football and encourage physical activity among the youth.
In addition to the stadiums in Vanadzor and Ijevan, there are plans to build a National Stadium in the future Academic Campus area.
