A new sports complex will be built in Yerevan for the training of team sports
The government has confirmed that the sports complex located at 5 Tsitsernakaberd Highway in Yerevan will be used for the training of national teams.
Currently, the facility includes a cafeteria and a dormitory building, designed to accommodate around 60 people. It has two sports halls, each covering 1,600 square meters. One of the halls meets the international standards for artistic gymnastics, while the other was previously used for wrestling, judo, and boxing training.
The sports complex is planned to be renovated and turned into a center for national team training. Given the existing dormitory building and two sports halls, the facility will be used for training camps, championships, and other competitions. A medical rehabilitation center will also operate within the complex.
There is a demand for sports training centers in Armenia. Currently, national teams conduct their training sessions in Olympavan and Tsaghkadzor, but these facilities are insufficient for the various age groups of national teams.
