
Elina Avanesyan has improved her position in the WTA rankings
In August, Elina Avanesyan, who acquired Armenian citizenship, advanced one spot in the WTA rankings. The Armenian tennis player is currently ranked 43rd with 1,182 points.
For the 22-year-old athlete, who now competes under the Armenian flag, this is the highest ranking she has achieved in her career.
The world’s 43rd-ranked player began playing tennis at the age of six and started professional training at 13.
Throughout her career, Avanesyan has participated in 23 tournaments. Her most significant victory came in 2023. When she won the ITF W100 title in Wiesbaden, Germany. To date, she has earned $1,772,549 in prize money.
