Weightlifting World Championships: Two-time European champion Gor Sahakyan placed 8th with a total of 331 kg in the biathlon
At the Weightlifting World Championships held in Manama, Bahrain, Armenia’s representative and two-time European champion Gor Sahakyan placed 8th in the 73 kg weight category with a total of 331 kg.
In the snatch event, Sahakyan successfully completed only one attempt. The 21-year-old weighlifter recorded a result of 146 kg.
In the jerk event, he again managed to succeed in just one attempt. He held a 185 kg barbell overhead.
On December 8, Armenia secured its first medal at the World Championships. The 19-year-old Alexandra Grigoryan won a bronze medal with a total of 205 kg.
