Elina Avanesyan Advances to the Quarterfinals of the WTA-250 Tournament
Tennis player Elina Avanesyan, competing under the Armenian flag, has secured her second victory at the Hobart tournament. The Armenian athlete will continue her campaign in the quarterfinals. Her opponent yet is not known.
In the second round of the WTA tournament, Avanesyan faced the world’s 94th-ranked player, Greet Minnen of Belgium. In a match lasting over an hour, Avanesyan outperformed her opponent in two sets with scores of 6:2, 6:2.
The prize fund for the Hobart tournament is $275,000. Previously, the Armenian tennis player participated in the “Brisbane International presented by Evie” tournament, held from December 29 to January 5. She began her journey from the 1/64 finals but was eliminated in the 1/16 finals, earning $17,750 from that tournament.
Elina Avanesyan has been competing under the Armenian flag since August 2024.
