Noah loses to dutch AZ Alkmaar and Is eliminated from further competition

Armenian champion Noah has been eliminated from European competition after losing to the Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the second leg of the Conference League knockout round play-offs.

The away match ended with a score of 0-4. The hosts opened the scoring as early as the 5th minute following a precise strike by Ro-Zangelo Daal, restoring the overall balance of the tie. The ball possession percentage indicated that Noah’s players were mostly moving without the ball.

In the 39th minute, Sven Mijnans doubled the lead, and in the 54th minute, the same player scored the third goal. In the 2nd minute of added time, AZ Alkmaar scored a fourth goal, sealing a comprehensive victory.

In the first leg, Noah had defeated the opponent 1-0 at home thanks to a goal by Hovhannes Hambardzumyan; however, based on the result of the return leg, they lost the tie and were eliminated from further competition.

Despite the defeat, Noah became the first Armenian team to reach the play-off stage in a European club competition.
