Alexander Lazaryan becomes the champion of the U20 European Weightlifting Championships
Member of Armenia’s junior weightlifting team, Alexander Lazaryan, won a gold medal at the U20 European Championships held in Poland. Competing in the 102 kg weight category, the Armenian weightlifter achieved a combined total of 347 kg (154+193 kg).
In the snatch event, Lazaryan successfully completed three lifts, holding weights of 145 kg, 150 kg, and 154 kg overhead. This earned him a small bronze medal in this exercise.
In the clean and jerk event, Alexander Lazaryan lifted weights of 186 kg, 190 kg, and 193 kg, winning a small gold medal.
Armenian team weightlifter Milena Khachatryan won a silver medal in the 81 kg weight category in the U23 European Championships. She recorded a total of 218 kg (96+122 kg).
