Armenia Wins Another Gold at the European Junior and Youth Championships
The European Junior and Youth Championships are currently underway in Raszyn, Poland. Weightlifter Julietta Avanesyan, representing Armenia’s under-20 women’s weightlifting team, has won the gold medal.
Competing in the +87 kg weight category, Avanesyan recorded a 108 kg lift in the snatch event, earning her a small gold medal. In the clean and jerk event, with a 127 kg lift, the Armenian athlete won another small gold medal.
With a total result of 235 kg in the combined lift, Avanesyan became the European Junior Champion, winning the gold medal.
