Demands or Support: Tensions Rise in Armenian Football
Fan movements and supporters of football clubs are organizing protests during Fastex Armenian Premier League matches, with fans entering the field to demand the resignation of the current leadership of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA).
Clubs from the Fastex Armenian Premier League and the First League, including “West Armenia,” “Alashkert,” “Gandzasar,” and “Syunik,” have expressed support for the current FFA leadership.
On the other hand, clubs that have joined the fans’ demand for resignation include “Pyunik,” “Urartu,” and “Shirak.” “Shirak” has even banned broadcasts from their home stadium in Gyumri.
Unprecedented actions have been carried out by fan clubs during league games, demanding the resignation of the FFA leadership. However, the private Fast TV not only diverted its camera angles to avoid showing what was happening in the stadiums but also, through its commentators (with the exception of Arman Abelian), distorted the reality, – the statement stated.
