Ten tourism clusters will be built in the regions of Armenia
The Ministry of Economy has reached a five-year loan agreement with the World Bank. Within this framework, it is planned to secure a loan of $100 million to construct ten tourism clusters in the regions of Armenia. These will be located in various settlements. Tourism systems will be established in Goris, Yeghegis, Areni, Jermuk, Sevan, and other areas. This was announced by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during the discussion of the 2025 State Budget.
Let me provide the example of the Marmashen Monastic Complex. We have completely paved the road leading to the monastic complex and created more than 1 km of walking paths in the surrounding area. We have established designated areas where people can conduct business and engage in sales in a civilized manner, – stated Papoyan.
The main objective of the project is to integrate cultural heritage with natural heritage. According to Papoyan, the government’s future strategy is aimed precisely at this goal.
