Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) have visited Armenian prisoners held in Baku
Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), with the agreement of Azerbaijan, have delivered parcels containing personal belongings prepared by the families of Armenian prisoners held in Baku. Additionally, the prisoners were given the opportunity to establish contact with their families. This was announced by Zara Amatuni, Head of Communications Programs of the ICRC Delegation in Armenia.
Azerbaijan confirms holding 23 Armenian prisoners. Among prisoners were 8 former officials of Artsakh.
ICRC representatives are also monitoring the conditions of detention, ensuring that the prisoners receive necessary medical assistance and essential items.
It is worth noting that the issue of the prisoners’ return remains in the spotlight of the international community. Numerous human rights organizations and countries are urging Azerbaijan to facilitate the immediate return of the prisoners in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian law.
