In 2025, two official missions will be conducted in Armenia by EU experts

On December 11, a high-level meeting took place in Yerevan as part of the operational phase of the Armenia-EU visa liberalization dialogue. The timelines for the visa liberalization program were not disclosed. It will be implemented in stages. As part of this process, in 2025, EU experts will analyze the existing issues in Armenia regarding the topic. This will result in a list of requirements that will be necessary for Armenian citizens to achieve visa liberalization with the EU.

Key issues were also discussed, including document security, border and migration management, human rights protection, combating corruption and organized crime, and others, all of which play a crucial role in the visa liberalization process.

The event was led by Armenia’s Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan and Johannes Luchner, Deputy Director-General for Migration and Home Affairs at the EU.

The official dialogue on complete visa liberalization began in December 2020, when the EU and Armenia announced their readiness to start the process.
