A criminal case has been initiated against Hovik Aghazaryan

The Anti-Corruption Committee has initiated a criminal case against Hovik Aghazaryan. The proceedings were launched under the article related to the disclosure of information containing state secrets.

Recent developments surrounding Hovik Aghazaryan have drawn media attention in recent days. Members of the “Civil Contract” party accused him of violating both party and public moral norms. And that very reason leads to his expulsion from the party. These accusations were compounded by claims of disclosing state secrets. Tthough Aghazaryan denied the allegations, stating that he was unaware of such information.

In a separate case, he is also accused of illegal activities related to the export of small ruminants.

Additionally, Aghazaryan’s phone was confiscated by the investigative body in connection with an incident involving former Investigative Committee head Argishti Kyaramyan. The letter accused Aghazaryan of interfering in a criminal case related to his son. Which subsequently led to demands for Aghazaryan’s resignation from “Civil Contract.”

Currently, no penalties have been imposed against him. However, for charges to be formally brought, approval from the majority of the National Assembly is required.
