Service Apartments for Military Personnel Without Housing or Registration Within 60 km
The government plans to make amendments and additions to the “Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel.” Their aim is to improve the social conditions of service members and their families.
The draft proposes providing housing or granting the right to compensation for rental expenses to service members who do not own a residential property or lack permanent (actual) registration within 60 km of their service location.
Previously, the distance was set at 30 km. Monthly financial allowances for contract service members will be replaced with monetary compensation for housing rental expenses.
The cost of registering rental contracts with the state will be covered by the state budget once per fiscal year.
With the adoption of this law, military personnel will benefit more effectively from housing rights, considering the targeted nature of compensation and the distance from the service location to their residence.
