The number of crimes and deaths in the Armenian Armed Forces has decreased
Armenia’s Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan stated that in 2023, there were 2,358 cases of crime in the Armenian Armed Forces, compared to 4,570 in 2022, which means the number has decreased by 48.4%.
She also reported that in 2023, 22 servicemen died in peacetime, 15 of whom were due to the fire incident in Azat.
Regarding the data for 2024, Vardapetyan mentioned that from January until now, the number of servicemen deaths has been 26, of which 6 were murders, 4 were killings by the enemy, 4 were due to car accidents, 3 were due to illness, 1 was an accident, and so on.
According to Anna Vardapetyan, this year has recorded the lowest mortality rate since the 44-day war.
