Israel strikes a Christian settlement

The Israeli air force has bombed the village of Aytou, located in the Zgharta district of northern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Health reports at least 22 fatalities, with 8 more people injured.

The village’s population is primarily composed of Christians. Israel targeted a four-story residential building where displaced civilians from southern Lebanon had sought shelter.

This is the first time during the ongoing war that Israel has struck a Christian settlement. Until now, the majority of strikes had been focused on southern Lebanon and Beirut.
