Catalan club “Barcelona” secured victory over Madrid’s “Real Madrid” in the Spanish Super Cup and claimed the trophy.

Hans-Dieter Flick, who took over “Barcelona” before the start of the 2024/25 season, won his first trophy as the head coach of the Catalan team. “Barcelona” triumphed over the “Royal” club with a score of 5–2.

The match’s first goal was scored by Kylian Mbappé in the 5th minute. Despite taking an early lead, “Barcelona” responded with four goals in the first half. The goals were scored by Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski (from a penalty), Raphinha, and Alejandro Baldé.

At the very beginning of the second half, “Barcelona” netted their fifth goal against Thibaut Courtois’ defense. Brazilian forward Raphinha completed a brace. In the 57th minute, “Barcelona” goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny committed a last-man foul and was sent off. From the resulting free kick, “Los Blancos” forward Rodrygo reduced the score to 2–5.
