Elina Avanesyan advances in WTA rankings

The Women’s Tennis Association has published a new version of the world rankings, where Elina Avanesyan, representing Armenia, has climbed 11 spots and now occupies the 158th position.

The 23-year-old Avanesyan had been absent from competitions for about two months due to health issues. Recently, she returned to tournament play and participated in the WTA 250 series tournament in Ostrava, Czech Republic, where she concluded her performance after a victorious start.

Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus remains the leader of the rankings. Iga Świątek of Poland holds the second place, and Elena Rybakina, representing Kazakhstan, rounds out the top three.
