A New Requirement: Tourism Operators and Their Managers Must Have at Least Three Years of Experience

During its session on January 23, the Armenian government introduced a series of requirements for entities engaged in tourism activities.

According to Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, the new draft proposes establishing rules and requirements for the provision of services by tourism entities, these aim to clearly differentiate the activities of tour operators and travel agencies while ensuring the availability of quality services and a level playing field in the industry.

According to the draft, tour operators and their managers will be required to have at least three years of work experience in the field or experience in performing work (or providing services), or hold higher or vocational education in tourism.

If the tourism service operates online, the company must have a functional and regularly updated website available in multiple languages. Each page must visibly display the date and year of its latest update.

A dedicated section of the website must provide information about the tour operator, including the company name, taxpayer registration address and number, bank account details, office address, and details about its management and members.

Additionally, the website must feature information about the offered tourism packages, tours, or other related services.
