Emma Poghosyan becomes European Junior Champion
According to the Armenian Weightlifting Federation, at the ongoing European Junior and U23 Championships in Durrës, Albania, Armenia has won its fourth gold medal.
In the women’s 86 kg weight category, Armenia’s Emma Poghosyan lifted 100, 103, and 105 kg in the snatch, taking third place. In the clean and jerk, she lifted 131 and 136 kg, setting a new European record and winning the gold medal.
With a total of 241 kg, Emma Poghosyan claimed the title of European Junior Champion.
It should be noted that in 2023, the Armenian weightlifter also won the European Youth Championship in the 81 kg category with a total of 225 kg, setting a new European youth record in the clean and jerk with 129 kg.
In 2024, she also became a world champion, winning a gold medal at the World Weightlifting Championships with a total of 233 kg.
