Packages Filled with Cocaine Discovered in Yerevan
The employees of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the State Revenue Committee (SRC), in collaboration with representatives from the Department of Electronic Commerce and Air Transport Shipments, subjected two packages imported to Armenia from the Kingdom of Spain via “Haypost” CJSC to customs inspection.
According to data reported by the SRC, during the examination, polyethylene bags weighing 178 and 250 grams, filled with powder resembling the drug “cocaine,” were discovered inside mattresses intended for animals.
Criminal proceedings have been initiated regarding the discovery. The detained individuals were transferred to the General Department of Investigation of Economic Crimes and Smuggling of the Investigative Committee, where they were arrested under the features of Article 393 (Illicit Trafficking of Drugs) and Article 399 (Smuggling) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (RA).
The preliminary investigation of the case is ongoing.
