First Train with Russian Wheat Reaches Armenia via Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani media report that on November 4, the first train loaded with Russian wheat passed through the territory of Azerbaijan and headed for Armenia. According to the APA agency, 15 railway wagons, transporting 1,048 tons and 800 kg of grain, were cleared in Russia and sent to the Dalarik Station in Armenia via Azerbaijan and Georgia.

This information has not yet received an official commentary from the Armenian side. It should be noted that the Azerbaijani side was also the first to speak about the transit of grain. However, it is important to mention that initially, the discussion was about Kazakh wheat, not Russian.

It should be recalled that weeks ago, the President of Azerbaijan announced in Kazakhstan that Baku was lifting the ban on the transit of Armenian goods. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, in turn, stated that Baku had confirmed its readiness to ensure the transit of Russian products.

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan had also stated that Armenia would soon receive the first batch of Kazakh wheat, which would pass through Azerbaijan: from Aktau to Baku, and then the grain would reach Armenia via the Azerbaijani and Georgian railways.
