Major Fire at the Komitas Branch of the “Yerevan City” Supermarket

On November 6, at 11:08, a distress call was received by the National Center for Crisis Management that a fire had broken out at one of the food establishments on Komitas Avenue in Yerevan city. It was later clarified that the fire had erupted at the Komitas branch of the “Yerevan City” supermarket chain.

Videos have already been circulated on social networks showing that the fire is quite intense and is spreading rapidly. According to preliminary data, the fire started on the roof of the building.

According to the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 6 fire and rescue squads and one aerial ladder from the fire and rescue units of the Yerevan City Rescue Department were dispatched to the scene under the ” 1 BIS” fire complexity call. Subsequently, a ” Call Number 3″ complexity was announced, and an additional six fire crews, as well as the on-duty groups of the fire extinguishing and rescue operations organization departments, were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighting efforts are ongoing.
