Gyumri Mayor Transferred to Hospital, Then Back to Penitentiary
The head of the Gyumri community, Vardan Ghukasyan, was transferred on November 7 from the “Saint Gregory the Illuminator” Medical Center back to the “Yerevan-Kentron” Penitentiary Institution.
His defender, Zaruhi Postanjyan, stated that she has not yet received the medical documents to ascertain the grounds on which Ghukasyan was discharged from the hospital.
It should be noted that Vardan Ghukasyan had been transferred to the hospital from the penitentiary the previous day. According to the lawyer, he suffers from diabetes, his blood sugar level had reached up to 19, and there was a need for a coronary angiography.
Postanjyan mentioned that she is currently heading to the penitentiary for a visit and will announce the details of his health condition later.
