Citizens will have full control over their personal data

Citizens of Armenia will have the opportunity to control which state or private institutions have accessed their personal data. Nerses Yeritsyan, Director of the RA Digital Systems Agency, stated this at the financial PLUS Forum held in Yerevan.

According to him, citizens will first give consent for the Ministry of Internal Affairs to be able to use their data, and then they will see which entity applied for that information and for what purpose.

The new system will also allow limiting the accessibility of private institutions, such as medical centers. Healthcare institutions will operate electronically, but the citizen can stipulate that their data is accessible to those centers only in their presence.

The Agency for Information Systems is implementing the projects for a unified portal of state electronic services and a common database of state data. The Agency operates as a foundation, whose management board is formed by the Central Bank and the Ministry of High-Tech Industry.
