Turkey Prepares to Open Alican Border Crossing
Turkey’s Minister of Transport, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, announced that the Armenia-Turkey border crossing will be opened after the peace process.
Uraloğlu noted that the preparatory works for the crossing have been completed, including the assessment and restoration of the bridge’s current condition. The new crossing will create an efficient trade route, reduce costs and distances, and connect Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, thereby strengthening regional trade links.
The Minister emphasized that the initiatives of Armenia and Azerbaijan for the opening of the checkpoint are important, and they will serve as a catalyst for both commercial and logistical development.
According to Uraloğlu, the Kars line is vital for the future of the region, and the new infrastructure will facilitate the transport of goods and the expansion of connections in the region.
