It is Known What Sentences the Azerbaijani Prosecutor is Demanding for the Former Military-Political Leaders of Artsakh

Since yesterday, a number of representatives of the political field have been raising the issue of Armenian captives held in Baku. The reason for this concern is the information published by Azerbaijani media outlets, according to which the prosecution side has demanded severe sentences against the former military-political leaders of Artsakh.

During a parliamentary briefing, MP Lilit Galstyan noted that the trials underway in Azerbaijan against the captured Armenians, including the former military-political leaders of Nagorno-Karabakh, are politicized and fabricated. She emphasized that the return of the captives must remain one of the priorities of Armenia’s political agenda.

According to the published information, the prosecution side has demanded life imprisonment for Arayik Harutyunyan, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Davit Manukyan, Davit Ishkhanyan, and Davit Babayan. 20 years of imprisonment have been demanded for Arkadi Ghukasyan, Bako Sahakyan, Madat Babayan, and Melikset Pashayan. The sentences demanded for the other captives are: Garik Martirosyan – 19 years, Davit Alaverdyan – 18 years, Levon Balayan – 17 years, Vasili Beglaryan, Gurgen Stepanyan, and Erik Ghazaryan – 16 years.

Lilit Galstyan added that the Armenian side must follow this issue, adhering to international standards and continuing cooperation towards the return of the captives.
