Long-term Support for Rental Housing Proposed for Displaced Families from Artsakh
The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has published a new government draft proposal for discussion, which aims to provide long-term and sustainable support to specific groups of families displaced from Artsakh through the partial compensation of housing rental fees. The draft has been submitted to the e-draft.am platform.
The draft proposes supporting displaced families who are registered in the state social housing fund but have not received or have refused a certificate for purchasing or constructing an apartment or house. Eligibility for support may be granted to families with 1 to 3 members consisting exclusively of individuals with indefinite Group 1 or Group 2 disabilities, profound or severe functional limitations, or persons aged 60 and over.
Support may also be granted to families whose age criteria meet the established requirements: the sum of the ages of two members is 115 or more, and in the case of three members, 175 or more.
According to the draft, rental assistance is planned to be provided over a period of 120 months. The monthly assistance is set at 40,000 drams for each family member.
The draft is currently in the public discussion phase.
