Nikol Pashinyan visited the area designated for the Academic City

Nikol Pashinyan posted an update on his Facebook page, accompanied by a video, showing that the work in the area designated for the Academic City is entering a practical phase. During the visit, the Prime Minister was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, Arayik Harutyunyan, the Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (ESCS), Zhanna Andreasyan. They familiarized themselves with the ongoing cleaning and organizational efforts in the area, as well as the mapping of the buildings and the landscaping plans. The progress of the archaeological excavations was also mentioned. The excavations have uncovered the Silikyan settlement, one of the pre-ceramic archaeological sites of Armenia and the South Caucasus. Rooms 2–4 meters in diameter, tools made of obsidian and basalt, small flakes, and scales were discovered in the area. The Prime Minister emphasized that this work is important not only for preservation but also for science and education, and through these efforts, the Academic City will become a scientific and educational center.
