Preliminary results of Vagharshapat elections are known
The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Armenia has published the preliminary results of the Council of Elders elections in the Vagharshapat community of Armavir Province, based on data from all 47 polling stations.
According to the preliminary protocols, the political forces collected the following votes:
– “Civil Contract” Party – 15,298 votes
– “Haghtanak” (Victory) Alliance of Parties – 10,051 votes
– “Mayr Hayastan” (Mother Armenia) National-Democratic Party – 1,692 votes
– “Hanrapetutyun” (Republic) Party – 1,241 votes
– “Hayrenik” (Fatherland) Party – 1,193 votes
– “Azat Demokratner” (Free Democrats) Party – 1,177 votes
– “Zharangutyun” (Heritage) Party – 440 votes
– “Hamahaykakan Chakat” (All-Armenian Front) Party – 295 votes
The lead candidate for the “Civil Contract” Party is Argishti Mekhakyan, who previously served as the head of the Khoy community. Prior to the enlargement, he was removed from office and assumed the temporary position of the head of the Vagharshapat community.
The Council of Elders elections in the enlarged Vagharshapat community (Etchmiadzin, Khoy, Voskehat) took place on November 16.
According to the CEC, out of 69,866 voters, 31,527 citizens cast their ballots, representing 45.12% of the electorate. Six observation organizations monitored the voting process.
