Samvel Karapetyan’s supporters hold a gathering near the court
Gegham Manukyan and Eduard Sharmazanov criticized the processes being carried out against Samvel Karapetyan.
Former National Assembly deputy Gegham Manukyan states that a policy of “kulak-dispossession” is being implemented, which, according to him, is connected with the activities of the Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA) and could lead Armenia to face multi-million dram fines. He added that this burden will ultimately be borne by the citizens, including the voters of Vagharshapat, who supported the ruling power.
Eduard Sharmazanov also criticized the actions taken against Samvel Karapetyan. According to him, Karapetyan “is fighting for the protection of national values,” and the process is “political persecution,” within the framework of which he is considered a politically persecuted person. Sharmazanov added that the authorities “fear national awakening” and are trying to prevent possibilities for consolidation.
Opposition representatives insist that the government is implementing political pressure and changing approaches contrary to national values. The ruling side has not yet reacted to these claims.
