Food Safety Inspectorate (FSI) Discovers Adulterated Dairy Products
The Food Safety Inspectorate (FSI) conducted inspections at three dairy producing companies—”Vanand” LLC, “Igit” LLC, and “Vanush and Edgar Hovhannisyan” LLC—to ascertain the traceability of dairy products and the compliance of the products with technical regulations.
During the inspections, samples of dairy products were taken and subsequently examined in the laboratory. According to the research results, the product “Milk-containing product with milk fat substitute, prepared using Lori cheese technology, ‘Gheghama’,” taken from “Igit,” complied with the requirements of the technical regulations for the safety of milk and dairy products. Specifically, the mass fraction index of milk fat was within the established norms.
The same cannot be said for the other two producers. Two batches of the product “Milk-containing product with milk fat substitute, prepared using brine cheese technology,” produced by “Vanand” LLC, and a similar product of the “Jajur” trademark from “Vanush and Edgar Hovhannisyan” LLC did not comply with the requirements of the technical regulations.
Laboratory examination revealed that the mass fraction of milk fat in these products constituted only 1-5%, consequently classifying them as adulterated food products.
The Inspectorate has provided the economic entities with directives regarding the recall, disposal, or destruction of the hazardous product batches.
