Accident Occurred During Firefighting Efforts in Tavush: New Details Known

On November 26, a service vehicle belonging to Fire-Rescue Squad No. 2 of Vanadzor was involved in an accident during firefighting operations in Tavush Province. As a result of the incident, fire-rescuing officer, Sergeant Taron Simonyan, died, and four other rescuers sustained injuries.

According to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia (RA), the lives of the injured are not in danger. The health condition of three rescuers is assessed as moderate, and the condition of one is satisfactory. Three of the injured have been transferred to Yerevan for further treatment, while one continues treatment at a regional medical center.

It should be recalled that major fires broke out in the Tavush and Gegharkunik provinces starting on November 21, and it later became known that fires had also erupted in other provinces.
