Yerevan to Remove 1,250 Non-Viable Trees by Year-End
By the end of 2024, the removal of dead trees and their replacement with new ones will continue in the capital. This was announced in a statement by the Yerevan Municipality.
This year, specialists have approved 1,250 tree removal permits. The permits are issued by designated specialists, and around 800 trees have already been removed.
We prioritize trees that, in addition to being dried up, also pose a high risk of falling. It’s no secret that only this year, we’ve had over 200 cases of large trees falling in Yerevan, stated Armen Begoyan, Director of the Green Areas and Environmental Protection NGO.
The autumn planting season has already begun in several locations in Yerevan. According to Armen Begoyan, the number of new trees planted exceeds the number of those being removed.
