Narek Samsonyan transferred to hospital
The health condition of Narek Samsonyan, currently held at the “Armavir” Penitentiary Institution, has sharply deteriorated. This was reported by human rights advocate and lawyer Ruben Melikyan.
According to him, Samsonyan called from prison and informed that a medical examination revealed his heart rate was above normal, leading to an emergency call for an ambulance. The staff made a decision to transfer Samsonyan to the “Ejmiatsin” Medical Center.
It should be recalled that today marks the 10th day of Narek Samsonyan’s hunger strike.
He and Vazgen Saghatelyan were arrested based on a report filed by the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, due to remarks made during a podcast episode.
On January 9, the court extended the detention period for another three months.
