Government to ցompensate ֆormer USSR Sberbank դeposits for ցertain գroups
During its session on January 29, the Government of the Republic of Armenia adopted a decision to compensate individuals born on or before December 31, 1944, for monetary deposits placed in the Republican Bank of the Armenian SSR of the former USSR Sberbank until June 10, 1993.
According to the decision, the compensation applies to citizens who are depositors at “VTB-Armenia Bank” CJSC. However, the decision does not specify the number of beneficiaries or the total amount of compensation subject to payment.
Compensation will also be provided to participants of the Republic of Armenia’s combat operations for defense, as well as to those citizens who, as of August 1, 2014, were registered in the border communities of the Republic of Armenia and whose lands were either not utilized due to military actions or were subjected to enemy shelling.
It is noted that the compensation will be processed exclusively through non-cash methods.
