Air pollution re-emerges in Yerevan

Deviations in atmospheric air quality were recorded in Yerevan from January 20 to 26. During this period, several administrative districts reported concentrations of dust and certain pollutants exceeding the Maximum Permissible Concentration (MPC).

Dust levels exceeded the maximum permissible concentration in four administrative districts of the city. In the Kentron administrative district, high indicators were recorded from January 20–23, as well as on January 25. Excess dust was documented in Nor Nork on January 20, in Arabkir on January 23, and in Shengavit on January 21.

Exceedances in nitrogen dioxide content were recorded only in the Nor Nork administrative district on January 21–22 and January 26. In the remaining administrative districts—Kentron, Arabkir, and Shengavit—this indicator remained within permissible limits.

During the reporting period, sulfur dioxide content did not exceed the maximum permissible concentration in any of the observed administrative districts of Yerevan.
