16 outdoor football pitches planned to be built in Yerevan
The construction of 16 outdoor football pitches will soon begin in Yerevan. This was announced by Andranik Tevosyan, the Acting Head of the Construction and Improvement Department of the Yerevan Municipality, during the operational meeting on February 23.
“We have 3 school gymnasiums in the final stage of design and 2 currently being designed. We also have the design process for another 16 football pitches underway; all their tenders have taken place, and we plan to move to the construction phase soon,” Tevosyan detailed.
He also noted that within the framework of last year’s programs, the gymnasium of Yerevan School No. 175 was fundamentally renovated and equipped with sports gear.
It is worth noting that discussions regarding these projects have been ongoing since last year. In April 2025, the Yerevan Municipality reported plans for the improvement of 115 courtyards, 30 of which would include the construction of a football pitch. At that time, it was also mentioned that the construction of a tennis academy near “Haghtanak” (Victory) Park would also commence.
