Armenia Suspends the Activities of the Erasmus+ National Office

The Ministry of Education has decided to suspend the activities of the Erasmus+ National Office starting from January 1. The process of selecting a new office has begun. After the completion of the selection process and approval by the European Commission, the new organization will be able to start its operations immediately from this year. Until the new office is established, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport will assume the office’s responsibilities.

Erasmus+ is a student exchange program funded by the European Union. Through this program, students are able to continue their education or undergo training at European universities.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Education and Science recently suspended the Erasmus+ program, explaining that the projects through which students reached European universities did not serve their purpose, had turned into tourism, and had not had a significant impact on Armenia’s higher education system.
