Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that police criminal, community, and patrol structures have been established in all regions. The Criminal Police will operate on a regional scale. It will focusing on serious and particularly grave crimes.
Simultaneously, community police will handle minor and less severe offenses, as well as a range of civil matters. Their functions include the detention of suspects, issuing firearm permits, and daily interactions with the community.
The third structure is the Patrol Police, operational since 2021. Looking ahead, plans are in place to establish the Police Guard by October 1, 2025. It will ensure the smooth execution of large events, concerts, and the reception of international guests. The Guard will operate in Yerevan and certain regions.
