Person Who Committed Robbery at VTB Bank Has Left Armenia

The perpetrator of the armed robbery at one of the VTB Bank branches in Yerevan on November 17 has been identified. Information circulated in the media suggested that he is Hovhannes B., a 32-year-old resident of Bashinjaghyan Street in Yerevan.

Hovhannes B. had previously been convicted several times, including for theft. It is currently known that he left Armenia yesterday via the Bagratashen checkpoint.

It is recalled that the man who attacked the bank on November 17 had a sign around his neck which read: “If you don’t give me the money, I will detonate (it) in 20 seconds.” He managed to steal an amount exceeding 1 million drams.
