Fires Simultaneously in Several Provinces

Thick smoke has spread, causing inconvenience to residents, following a fire that broke out in the “Zirak” landfills of Yeghegnadzor and Jermuk towns in Vayots Dzor Province.

According to Vayots Dzor Governor Vahagn Arsenyan, the necessary firefighting works are being carried out in the area, and the situation is under control.

It should be recalled that a household waste sorting station is planned to be built in the Vayk community next May, which will serve all settlements of the province. The introduction of sorting and preliminary processing, according to officials, will contribute to reducing the volume of waste and ensuring its safe management.

Fire emergencies are also being recorded in a number of other parts of the republic these days. Two fire outbreaks have been extinguished in the Chambarak-Ttu-jur road section, and in the remaining foci, the fire has been isolated. The fire that occurred in the area known as “Kazachi” is also isolated.

Fire suppression work continues near the settlement of Dzorachen, in the forest adjacent to the Dilijan serpentine roads, and on the territory of the “Lernayin Armenia” (Mountainous Armenia) Hotel in Dilijan. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), fires that broke out in the mountains and areas adjacent to settlements in Lori, Syunik, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn provinces have been successfully extinguished.
