Fires that Broke Out in Dilijan Forest Sections Are Fully Contained
As of 09:00 on November 27, the fires that broke out in the turns of Dilijan and near the “Lernayin Hayastan” (Mountainous Armenia) resort are completely contained. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Republic of Armenia (RA).
Earlier, fires had already been extinguished in Dzorashēn village of Shirak region, on the Chambarak-T’t’ujur road section of Gegharkunik region, in the settlement of Verin Hand in Syunik region, and in the “Kazachi” section of Dilijan in Tavush region. The fire that erupted in the area of Navur community of Tavush region was also contained.
The MIA once again reminds citizens to strictly observe fire safety rules, and in case of noticing a fire or smoke, to immediately call 911.
It should be recalled that large fires had broken out in the Tavush and Gegharkunik regions starting from November 21, and later, fires were also recorded in other regions.
As a result of an accident during the firefighting operations, one rescuer died and four others were injured.
