Closed roads within the territory of the republic
According to the “Road Department” Fund, as of 9:00 AM on December 29, several highways in the republic are closed for trailer vehicles due to unfavorable weather conditions.
Specifically, the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Noyemberyan highway, the section from the Jermuk intersection to the area known as “Zanger,” the Noravan-Ltsen-Tatev and Shinuhayr-Tatev-Kapan highways, as well as the Vardenyats Pass, are closed. Due to a severe blizzard, the Ttujur-Navur highway is closed for all types of vehicles.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), the Stepantsminda-Lars highway remains closed for trucks.
Black ice is present in some areas of the highways in the Ararat, Gavar, Kapan, Artik, Aragats, Hrazdan, and Ani regions. A blizzard is reported at the Meghri Pass.
Other interstate and republican highways are open. Road maintenance workers are carrying out cleaning and salt-sand treatment operations to ensure the flow of traffic.
