One dead following shootout in Ajapnyak
Shots were fired today on Abelyan Street in the Ajapnyak district.
Reports had circulated in the media indicating that there were 6 wounded as a result of the incident.
The Ministry of Health reports that, according to preliminary data, 7 citizens have been transported to the hospital.
The health condition of three individuals is assessed as extremely critical, and three as serious. Necessary medical assistance is being provided.
One citizen has died.
“Three are currently undergoing surgery, and the other two are in the intensive care unit, but various interventions and medical aid are still being provided. According to preliminary information, these are gunshot wounds, primarily in the chest and abdominal areas. The condition of the others is stable but serious; they are in the intensive care unit,” Ashot Kurghinyan, Deputy General Director for Surgery at the “Armenia” Republican Medical Center (RMC), told the media.
There is no additional information regarding their health status yet.
