Davitank has been handed over to the Udi community’s administration.
Dadivank, located in the occupied territory of Karvachar, has been transferred to the Udi community’s administration.
After the cessation of hostilities in Artsakh, the President of Azerbaijan instructed the removal of Armenian inscriptions from Armenian churches. In doing so, he attempted to accuse Armenians of appropriating the monastery and falsifying history.
The monuments, particularly those in the occupied territories of Artsakh, have been targeted. Ideas formed during the Soviet era are still in use today. The spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh is being presented as part of the Aghwank culture, linking it to the Caucasian Albania (Aghwank).
Why has it been handed over to the Udi community’s administration? While the majority of Udis were followers of the Armenian Apostolic Church before the Artsakh movement, in the 1990s, many distanced themselves from the Armenians as they were considered Armenians or supporters of Armenians. This is another method used by Azerbaijan to destroy cultural monuments. Now, in addition to destroying historical and cultural sites, they have moved on to distorting history.
