“Microcosm” Mural Unveiled in Aparan
In the city of Aparan, Aragatsotn Province, the famous French street artist Bolt created the “Microcosm” mural with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia (RA). The mural features a mixture of plant, animal, and human elements through mythological characters that tell their own story.
According to Bolt, the theme is sometimes dreamy, sometimes ridiculous or strange.
“These figures can be deities, statues, where plant, animal, and human elements are intertwined. This is a narrative mural; each character tells its own story. The theme is dreamlike, wondrous, or, at times, absurd. Here, themes from children’s imagery, monsters, African sculptures, and comics intersect,” noted Bolt.
The mural was curated by Nikola Logero-Lasserre and Aram Zurabyan, and the project was also supported by the French Institute in Armenia. The project aims to develop contemporary urban art in Armenia and foster cultural dialogue among various artists.
