Discussions Continue Over the Film “Life and Combat”
The disappearance of the film “Life and Combat” (Kyanq u Kriv) from official platforms has caused wide discussions on social networks in recent days. In response to the topic, today the film’s director and screenwriter, Mher Mkrtchyan, made a post, noting that the answer to the question should initially have been sought from the “Sharm Holding” company, which was previously the owner of the film. However, according to the director, the film’s copyrights are currently transferred to the Public Television Company (Public TV/H1), and therefore the questions should be addressed to the management of Public TV.
“In any case, it wouldn’t be good for Armenians to see a film about the victory of Armenians, about a strong Armenian army… About heroes. It won’t look nice… It’s uncomfortable… Everything is logical,” wrote Mkrtchyan.
In reality, the film’s copyrights have belonged to H1 (Public TV) for 3 years or more. Back in 2022, the television company disseminated a statement noting that although the film was shot by order and with the means of Public TV, it was effectively managed by another company, presumably “Sharm Holding.” The post stated that the television company had initiated a legal process to clarify the circumstances of transferring the film’s copyrights to another right holder, to assess and compensate the damage caused to the company. At this moment, in fact, the film is managed by the Public Television Company.
It should be noted that the film is already available on the “Kinodaran” platform.
