Material damage recorded in armenian-populated districts of Aleppo

As reported by “Gandzasar,” the official newspaper of the National Prelacy of the Diocese of Peria, early in the morning of January 8, explosions were recorded in the Armenian-populated neighborhoods of Aleppo as a result of ongoing clashes in the city.

Specifically, the Sheikh Taha and Villas districts sustained damage; however, only material losses were recorded following the explosions. There are no casualties or injuries.

According to the newspaper, it is currently relatively calm in Aleppo, though the sound of gunfire is heard occasionally. Grocery stores, bakeries, as well as hospitals and pharmacies continue to operate in the city.

For security reasons, the Aleppo Military Operations Office has permitted the population of the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh districts to temporarily leave their neighborhoods until 13:00.
