Sisian-Kajaran Road to Be Shortened by 54 km

The construction of bridges and tunnels on the Sisian-Kajaran road was discussed at a government meeting today.

Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, presented the project, which is expected to be completed by 2033. The plan includes the construction of 27 bridges and 9 tunnels. The current road will be shortened by 54 km—almost half—reducing travel time by 1.5-2 hours, with the average speed increasing from 50 km/h to 100 km/h.

The minister mentioned that, for the first time in Armenia, green bridges will be implemented to ensure uninterrupted migration flows for animals.
